Space of Mine

Rebel against a space mining AI hive and advance through as many weapons and upgrades as possible before the horde of security ships ends you with a bang. What, you expected to just mine?

Made for Juice Jam, 2022

Destroy enemy ships to gather progress points, install the chosen upgrade and choose the next one. New enemies appear in next waves and they sure aren't happy with value drifters.

From now on, my new rule of thumb: don't develop a game that takes more than 2 days for a week-long game jam. Seriously, crunching ain't healthy, boys and girls. Still, the game leaves a lot to be desired, content-wise, juiciness-wise and balancing-wise, but still is a fun and somewhat juicy experience. I liked making a shader for asteroid rendering a lot, despite it being quite simple.

I really like the game idea but lets say… Its not very “juicy”. Personally I think it lacks a feeling of space. What I mean by that is that in space you cant change direction so quickly. That would mean you have to think more carefully about where you are going. Also maybe consider adding some way of “hiding/running” from the bots.

Anyways this is a great game and it just inspired me to do something. Thanks a lot.
